How to compare two lists

  1. Paste your first list into List A and your second list into List B, one item per line.
  2. Choose how items are separated and whether to ignore case and surrounding whitespace.
  3. Copy the items that are only in List A, only in List B, or in both.

Handy for reconciling email lists, finding missing SKUs between two exports, or checking which users were added or removed between two reports.

Frequently asked questions

Have a different question and can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Reach out by sending us an email and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

Does the order of items matter?
No. Lists are compared as sets, so an item counts as a match wherever it appears in the other list. Use Text Compare if you need to see changes in order.
How are duplicates handled?
Each item is counted once. The number of duplicates in each list is shown above it, and the results contain each item only once.
Can I compare comma-separated lists?
Yes. Choose Commas, or New lines and commas, under Split items by.
Is the comparison case-sensitive?
By default, yes. Turn on Ignore case to treat "Apple" and "apple" as the same item. Results keep the spelling from the list they came from.
Are my lists sent anywhere?
No. Lists are compared in your browser and nothing you paste is sent to our servers.
